Ready-to-use slurry for the production of coatings and sealing of asphalt surfaces BITUFIX® E is a fine slurry based on polymer-modified bitumen emulsion
BITUFIX® E Ready-to-Use Slurry is used as a bitumen/plastic composite slurry to remove heavily used asphalt surfaces, such as central seams, rough asphalt surfaces, crossing areas, smaller cracks and crack clusters, etc. The application is carried out in one or two work steps in accordance with ZTV bit-STB 90
The ceiling surface must be carefully cleaned. The substrate must be level and well compacted. If it is very hot, the ceiling should be slightly moistened with water before applying the mud. Older asphalt coverings are given a primer as an adhesion promoter, eg Bitu adhesive. The slurry is stirred thoroughly before processing and, after the adhesion promoter has completely dried, spread evenly with a rubber squeegee and level off to zero. Since BITUFIX® E only hardens after the water has evaporated, the work should only be carried out in warm and dry weather. The outside and surface temperature should not fall below 10°C. Lower temperatures delay, higher temperatures accelerate the drying process. A second layer of slurry should only be applied after the first layer has completely dried. Slight color deviations from different batches are possible. This does not affect the properties of the sludge.
To increase the roughness, BITUFIX® E can be mixed with approx. 10% clay-free sand (grain size 0/2).
Simple sludge: approx. 0.8 - 1.5 kg/m²
Double slurry: 1st layer of slurry approx. 1.0 – 1.5 kg/m² 2nd layer of slurry approx. 0.6 – 1.2 kg/m²
Dilution water: 1 : 1
