Elastomer-modified, fiber-reinforced, filled seam adhesive based on bitumen solvent
BITUPLAST® L is a ready-to-install, cold-processable and quick-drying polymer bitumen mass with fiber and mineral reinforcement. Due to the adhesive and solvent components it contains, BITUPLAST-L is very smooth and penetrates the pores and indentations. As a result, it forms a particularly strong connection with the flank and has a high level of stability shortly after the application process. The applied mass is quickly waterproof, even if it is not completely dry.
BITUPLAST® L is especially suitable for seams in asphalt wearing courses (longitudinal and transverse seams) and for bonding plastic chamber filling elements in track construction.
BITUPLAST® L is not sensitive to frost. For better processing at low outside temperatures, the seam adhesive should first be stored at room temperature for a sufficient period of time. Due to the volatile solvents it contains, BITUPLAST® L seam adhesive must be labeled as dangerous goods and stored accordingly. In areas with insufficient air exchange, an adequate supply of fresh air must be ensured.
The seam flank to be treated must be dry and clean. BITUPLAST® L is used with a seam flank height of 4 cm with 80 g/rm., with a seam flank height of 6 cm with 120 g/rm. applied. Processing can be done manually with a brush or spatula. Mechanical application is also possible. The containers must be stirred thoroughly before processing. After prolonged storage, the mass can settle. However, after thorough stirring, it can easily be brought back into a ready-to-use state. BITUPLAST® L is not suitable for profile compensation.
