BITUREP® R (reactive asphalt)

Asphalt mortar based on reactive bitumen

BITUREP® R is a bitumen-based repair material for repairs on asphalt and concrete surfaces that can be applied cold and hardens quickly when water is added. The material is environmentally friendly, recyclable and contains no volatile solvents. After installation and compaction, the repaired areas can be driven over immediately and are extremely stable. BITUREP® R can later be built over with asphalt at any time.

areas of application

BITUREP® R is mainly used for repair work in road maintenance. The material can be processed very easily and without a large amount of equipment. Due to this property, the installation can also be carried out by non-specialist personnel

processing

BITUREP® R is mainly used for repair work in road maintenance. The material can be processed very easily and without a large amount of equipment. Due to this property, the installation can also be carried out by non-specialist personnel.

sample application
  • Partial repair of driveways, parking lots and courtyards
  • Production of small ramps or driveways
  • Filling of all kinds of potholes / pits
  • Compensation of level differences on asphalt roads and sidewalks
  • For filling work after manhole repairs

BITUREP® R can be used on roads of all load categories in layer thicknesses up to a maximum of 10 mm for 0/4, up to a maximum of 20 mm for 0/5 and up to a maximum of 50 mm for 0/8

Characteristics
  • The material is ready for processing and is delivered in buckets
  • After installation and compaction, the renovated area can be driven on immediately
  • The material hardens quickly and is resilient

BITUREP® R can be built over with hot asphalt mix, is not sensitive to frost and can be used at temperatures below 0°C

underground

It must be ensured that the substrate is free of loose components, standing water, ice, snow, dirt or any release agents. The substrate should be dry, but may also be slightly damp. When installing on concrete and with thin layers or when there are special requirements for layer and flank adhesion, the substrate or the edges of the old stock should be pre-treated with BITUSOL® primer. The primer is applied to the substrate with a dry paintbrush or brush. The installation of BITUREP® R can then begin immediately.

processing
  • Put BITUREP® R on the surface and spread it out with a rake or a trowel
  • Then spray the material generously with water (approx. 1 l of water per 25 kg of mixed material)
  • The mixture must then be well compacted. Small areas are compacted using a hand tamper
  • For larger areas, the use of a vibrating plate or a roller is recommended

  • When installing below 0°C, BITUREP® R should be stored in a warm place for better processing
  • The material should not be sprayed with water after installation
  • In freezing temperatures, slower hardening must be expected
  • The material should not be installed at temperatures below -5° C

BITUREP® R can be driven on immediately after installation and compaction. To reduce stickiness, the surface can be sprinkled with fine crushed sand. Densification occurs due to rolling traffic.
