Fleeces of various qualities or grids with fleece underlay have been developed as a system for permanent rehabilitation in order to delay the development of reflective cracks in renovated roadways.

It fulfills 3 important functions:

• seal
  
• Tension compensation
  
• even layer adhesion
  

The cleaning of the roadway and the repair of cracks and potholes or pre-profiling are carried out as preparatory work. It must be ensured that the fleece covers the entire surface.

Then an emulsion with a binder content of 60% or 67% is applied to the old top layer. In the case of higher loads, the use of polymer-modified bitumen emulsion is advisable. As soon as the emulsion has partially broken, the laying of the asphalt fleece can begin by unrolling. This is done using special equipment.

As a connection, the new asphalt surface course can be laid with a thickness of at least 5 cm without repeated pre-spraying.
